Small bush
Flowers, covering thick
Reds, blues, purples
Vibrance on display
Urging admiration
Often passed by
There it grows
Striking, breathtaking, unnoticed
Sounds
Birds, breeze, crackling leaves
Ambiance pleasant
Drowned out by the inner noise of a restless mind
Beckoning for an attentive ear
A gentle whisper from the outside
To take it in, to pause right here
Desperately it tries to break through
A thick veil of thoughts clouding my view
Serene, revitalizing, unnoticed
Reclining chair
Soft, yet firm, the perfect balance
Were it lacking in comfort, I’d complain
Yet it isn’t, so I say nothing
Think nothing
Benefits daily, seldom pondered
Just expected
Just the norm
There it sits
Luxuriant, often utilized, unnoticed
What is the extent?
Where does it end?
The treasures we miss
Not because they are out of reach
Relegated to the bin of miscellaneous necessities
They sit dormant, unrecognized
Then, one day, for this reason or that
They are gone
We feel the weight of their absence
Why not the value of their presence?
Through a pair of darkened glasses
Only the most dazzling items capture our attention
As worthy of appreciation
Should we take them off, we would see
A plethora of gems in every direction
Finally, I would be remiss
If I fail to mention the Author of good gifts
Wisdom precise, justice triumphant
Every morning, new mercies abundant
Favor plentiful this very moment
All of His works a breathtaking opus
My friend, I ask you,
Have you noticed?
